As many will recall, as of March 2020 we had to close down the essay page and A-Z Holmes index of the site. Click here for the news article which explains it in more detail. However, while this might get resolved in the future, I am happy to say that the Essay page has now partially reopened with a few of the essays that were not affected by Howard Ostrom's book deal. In the meantime, I have had a large overhaul in the background for a lot of the site, and have removed or cleaned up a great deal of the pages and broken content. Other sections you will find marked with under construction while I continue to do this. This should hopefully result in a less cluttered and smoother user experience. Some people may be disappointed that certain segments and series have been removed, but this site has always been about finding new ways to present the world of Sherlock Holmes and Doyle to fans, and the loss of one avenue will lead to more innovation. I have a lot of ideas of what I want to do with it all, but it may take some to get it all running and functional. Thanks to everyone who has been a visitor of this site over the past decade, and I hope what we have coming next will be enough to convince you keep coming back for the next ten years too! On this note, if anyone wants to use this platform to reach a wider audience, please feel free to get in touch. This could be as wide ranging as deep analytical essays on the canon, or reviews on films/pastiche books. Anything Holmes or Doyle related can be considered. ![]() Inspired by her recent return to Baker Street as Mary Watson in the 8th Series of No Place Like Holmes, Lexi Wolfe will be performing a special live zoom event recital play about the great man. BAKER STREET LADIES (SHERLOCK'S WOMEN) Sherlock Holmes is not at home this evening. Neither is his friend and colleague Dr. Watson. Mr Holmes is rarely home unless knee-deep in a case (and unavailable anyway) or otherwise desperately waiting for a good one to come along. But on this particular evening, whatever the 'case', he is elsewhere. Four ladies, all with strong ties to the Great Detective, one after another, are drawn towards and into 221b Baker Street in the hope of finding him at home. Booking here: https://baker0820a.eventbrite.co.uk Tickets are pay-what-you-can (suggested amount around £9). You will receive an order confirmation at the bottom of which you will find your Zoom link. ---oOo--- |
