Nevertheless, I know the show had its hardcore fans, so this might be of interest to them to read. It is fairly dark in tone, and follows the events of what transpired in "Hell Hath No Fury", largely focusing on Gwendolyn Chambers and how killing her sister is affecting her. The hatred she feels for her half-sister also gets a closer examination, as does how she came to work for Moriarty. Her back story from childhood is also covered, developed from when Kelsey Williams first took on the role.
The episode would also have seen a return of Colonel Sebastian Moran, as well as other canon characters including Helen Stoner, Langdale Pike, and Inspector Jones.
Gwendolyn, much like Madeline, is a favorite character of mine. And while Madeline has enjoyed 7-years to develop from unredeemable ice queen to the softer, but still steely, best frenemy of Holmes, it is a shame that I was not able to take her ancestor down the same path that she had always been destined to tread. Maybe, one day in the future, I will be able to fill in some of the blanks of how she fits in the NPLH universe in the grander scheme of things.
Written at some point in 2014, it is obviously not quite as polished as it would be had it gone to production, and there is no point in me going over it now, but it still might prove an entertaining read to MMM fans.
