Today we have a Remastered version of Series 1, Episode 4 originally released December 18th 2010. Holmes recounts a story from his Great Hiatus Years involving his brother, the woman Irene Adler, and a spate of Christmas themed killings. The remastered version contains improved colour grading, the story now told almost entirely from Holmes narrative, new music, and an improved pacing. Today we have the remastered version of Series 1, Episode 3 of No Place Like Holmes: The Dubious Spiritualist (Sept 26th 2010). A client comes to Holmes for help in getting back an antique watch that she was tricked into handing over to a con artist. Holmes investigation reveals a truth closer to home for his client, as well as himself. Originally released in 2014, it took the place canonically of the 2010 version (Watson had described the events incorrectly, as normal). In the episode Holmes and Watson are on the trail of the Hound of the Baskerville once again in 1895, but the result of the case changes their lives forever. New improvements include cleaned up sound, improved colour grading, different music in places, some scenes built from the ground up, and a slightly pacier feel. If you have never experienced it before, what better place to start then right at the very start of the first, and longest running, Sherlock Holmes web series. I love this remaster so much. Not sure that I can properly explain how much "No Place Like Holmes" means to me and changed my life. It was my first piece of work following the end of the double act I was in, and it was the first time that I ever had to do more than just write and act. It brought the people I can consider my closest friends in my life, the vast majority of what I taught myself creatively all stems from years of working on this series, I got to have an audio cd and books, get inducted into various Holmes societies as an honorary member, and brought me autograph requests/gifts from fans around the world. Thank you to everyone who has been part of it/supported me. ![]() I am happy to say that the first of the Non-Holmes Sir Arthur Conan Doyle fictional tale adaptations is now officially underway and will start filming in mid October for an early 2019 release. "The Ghost Purchaser" is a dark comedy horror tale adapted from the short story "The Ghosts of Goresthorpe Grange (aka: Selecting a Ghost)." Confirmed cast thus far include Ross K. Foad as Silas D'odd, Victoria Harrild as Matilda D'odd, and Tony Carpenter as Jack Brocket. While this will be the first non-Holmes fictional tale produced under the NPLH banner, it is not the first non-Holmes related adaption by Doyle we have had. That honour goes to the History of Spirituality series. Today we have a brand new episode of The Diogenes Documentaries. Wrestling and Holmes have shared associations in the past, and probably a little more frequently than one may think. The Diogenes Documentaries team investigates. |
