Mike Archer

The Actor

Picture
Mike Archer took over the role of Dr John Watson from Samuel Coe in October 2011.

Born in Stockton On Tees Cleveland, Mike Archer moved to London and trained at Redroofs Film and Television School, during which time he played the lead role of Bassanio in "Merchant of Venice". Since his move, Mike has worked in T.V. Film and Theatre; working with directors such as Tom Hooper, Stephan Elliot and Steven Spielberg, and actors including Geoffrey Rush, Colin Firth and Ben Barnes. As well as performing on stage in London, his film credits include "Easy Virtue", "War Horse" and "The King's Speech".

He is also the director and founder of film production company "Old Lamp Films."

Mike came out top in the applicants for the desired replacement for his strong previous stage work, understanding of the Sherlock Holmes world, an RP Accent and the ability to grow a rather fine mustache.

The Character

Picture
Dr John Hamish Watson M.D  is the ever faithful sidekick/bibliographer & best friend to Sherlock Holmes. He has been transported along with Holmes to the post millennium world and like Holmes still holds his Victorian values, dress sense and morals and is still ever willing to assist in the strange new cases the world continues to throw at Holmes.

A gentleman, a scholar and thanks to his time in the Afghanistan war as an Army doctor - a cracking shot with his service revolver!
