"NO PLACE LIKE HOLMES" (NPLH) is a web drama comedy show that is based upon Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" series .

It follows the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, transported by means of demonic ritual from 1895 to the post millennium era. There they face a continuous struggle to keep their past a secret, unravel puzzling mysteries, and while all the while trying to come to terms with the peculiarities of modern day life.

The site also covers Holmes book reviews, Sherlockian Essays, Documentaries,  and much more.

History and Creation

NPLH was founded by lifelong Sherlock Holmes fan Ross K Foad in late 2009. following the split up of his standup and sketch comedy duo "Chrosstopher"

Not wishing to quit writing and acting, Ross struck out on his own focusing on a previously unused Holmes related sketch he had written as part of Chrosstopher .

He expanded the concept further and set out to make the web show "No Place Like Holmes" happen. This was all despite having no experience or training in directing or editing, having solely been a writer and performer .

The First series came out through 2010, and despite technical limitations, still had found a following in the Holmes world .
A 2nd Series followed in 2011 with improved equipment and continued to grow a fanbase as the show slowly found it's feet.

2011 also saw the NPLH empire begin to expand into other outlets, with Ross creating "Ross K Reviews" , a show in which he reviews Holmes Pastiches in extensive detail. A combination of his strange mannerisms and off the wall humor made the show a big hit, and  a welcome addition to the franchise, as he soon found himself being sent Holmes books worldwide by authors wanting to see their books get the treatment .

The franchise would again expand in early 2012 with the creation of the spin off Victorian days set show "The Mary Morstan Mysteries" which would run for 2 series between 2012-2015.

Late 2012 saw the NPLH site expand in yet another way with the incorporation of "The Howard Ostrom Collection",  a virtual gallery of one man's amazing autograph collection of Holmes and Watson actors.  To this day, Ross and Howard continue to grow the online collection with over 200 signatures and photos to date.

In late 2013, Howard began writing a series of essays surrounding Sherlock Holmes in the media, these began being published on the NPLH site, and soon after collated into "The Diogenes Club Library" - which allowed Holmes scholars worldwide to view and submit essays of a Holmesian nature.

2014 saw the launch of  "The Diogenes Documentaries" , a series of mini documentaries that primarily focus on Sherlock Holmes in the media.
In 2016, the site expanded even further with the introduction of "The A-Z Sherlock Holmes Index" - a compilation index piece of gargantuan proportion that index's every known Sherlock Holmes performers in over 115 years.

With the expansion having come this far in such a short time who knows what might come next...but be rest assured there will always be No Place Like Holmes .
