I am so sad to hear about the passing of the Comedian Rik Mayall's passing. I can not even begin to say how much of an influence he was for me as a writer/actor and I would not be doing what I do today if it were not for him. For those unaware why - between 2004-2009, I was one half of a Sketch/Stand up double act known as Chrosstopher. Whose acts included the parody/tribute act "The Younger Ones" (A homage to Rik's breakout series "The Young Ones").
As well as the youtube series it saw us perform all around the London circuit including places like "The Comedy Store". It was through all of this I really honed the writer and performer I am today. When it ended in late 2009 I knew I had to continue writing/acting on youtube as few things give me a greater thrill, this eventually led to "No Place Like Holmes" formation which is easily the greatest thing I have ever done with my life for the people for many reasons. None of that would have ever been possible if I had not been so into Rik's work and his influence on me.
So just a personal note to say thank you Rik, and for those that enjoy this site. I can honestly say, it wouldn't be here without him.
