I am sad to have to announce that Angela Holmes has had to leave the No Place Like Holmes cast. Angela has played the role of Rebecca Constance since 2012, debuting in the series 3 episode 2 "Reign Will Fall". The episode saw Miss Constance — the then headmistress of The Bruce Stock Academy — call in Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson to investigate a theft at her school. But in actual fact, the crime was little more than a smokescreen to allow Madeline Chambers time to interrogate Holmes housekeeper about his past. |
She would later join the Red Headed League as a full time member, assisting Madeline in her relentless investigation into Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson.
It might be strange to think now, but her position was never meant to be as prominent or as lengthy as it ended up. Originally, Braderick Theobald was always intended to be Madeline's main sidekick in The RHL, with Rebecca in a more minor non operational role, but after Barnaby Twyman retired from acting altogether, Angela's role became one of a far greater proportion.
In 2014, Angela would further cement her legacy in the Holmes world and as a "NPLH babe" by being one of the presenters in the first Diogenes Documentary episodes "The Original Baker Street Babes".
In this time she would also go on to create her own web series "The Gravity Girls", recruiting fellow NPLH cast member Kelsey Williams to co-star.
Angela Holmes on her departure:
"I've absolutely loved working on NPLH but think I may have to have a break from it so I have a little more time for new opportunities, I'm so grateful for being taken on as Rebecca and have learnt lots from it!"
But rest assured NPLH fans, it is not quite the very last of Madeline's money-grabbing frenemy, for Angela recently completed work on the 1st episode of the upcoming 5th series.
