History and Creation
NPLH was founded by Ross K Foad in late 2009 following the split up of his Stand up and Sketch comedy duo "Chrosstopher" .
Not wishing to quit writing and acting Ross struck out on his own focusing on a previously unused sketch he had written as part of Chrosstopher with Holmes and Watson which he expanded the concept of and combined with his Holmesian knowledge set out to make the web show happen despite having no experience or training in Directing or Editing having solely been a Writer and Performer .
The First Series came out through 2010 and despite technical limitations still had found a following in the Holmes world .
A 2nd Series followed in 2011 with improved equipment but was thrown off track by Dr Watson ( Samuel Coe) quitting the show.
Not wanting to halt production or rush in anyone to take over the role Ross continued the show with the Housekeeper Miss Blake (Tamzin Dunstone) having her role expanded and taking over the side kick role which proved to be a huge success with the clashing attitude chemistry and obvious social and class differences .
While he continued the search for a New Watson in August 2011 Ross created "Ross K Reviews" a show in which he review Holmes Pastiches in extensive detail and combined with his strange mannerisms and off the wall humor this proved to be a big hit and welcome addition to the franchise and soon he found himself being sent Holmes books worldwide by authors wanting to see their books get the treatment .
In October 2011 Ross cast Mike Archer as the replacement Watson (though he almost deleted his application without reading having been so tired of poor applicants to date) and together they have since become known as the Definitive Web Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson actors .
The franchise would again expand in early 2012 with the creation of the Spin off Victorian Set show "The Mary Morstan Mysteries".
And following his success as a book reviewer Ross was invited to be a participant in the Great Sherlock Holmes debate organized by MX Publishing as well as interviewing its guests .
While Ross took up the interviewing offer which became "Ross K Konnects" he reluctantly turned the position of being part of Team Warner Brothers down in favour of offering to capture and edit the event on video for the world to be able to view instead of just the audio and slide download . This proved to be again popular and secured Ross the chance to cover further debates in the same format .
As the core comedy show went from strength to strength there would be one further addition to the line up in late 2012 with the incorporation of "The Howard Ostrom Collection" a virtual gallery of one mans amazing autograph collection of Holmes and Watson actors .
With the expansion having this far in such a short time who knows what might come next...but be rest assured There will always be No Place Like Holmes .
